What is the difference between 
Preschool and Pre-K?
In a Creative Curriculum setting, Preschool (ages 2-4) focuses on social skills and learning through play, while Pre-K (ages 4-5) builds on these foundations with a more structured, kindergarten-preparatory approach. Both emphasize hands-on, inquiry-based learning, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence for future success.

What kind of curriculum does your program use?
LLLC utilize The Creative Curriculum®, a play-based learning system tailored to each child's developmental needs. The facility operates year-round, maintaining comprehensive health and safety protocols, and is licensed by the State of Illinois DCFS.

Are meals or snacks provided?
AM Snack
Lunch
PM Snack.
Infants are provided formula and parents are provide breast milk.

Is there a waitlist, and how can I join it?

Do you offer parent-teacher conferences?
Parent meetings are available as needed for all classrooms. Preschool classrooms hold Parent & Teacher conferences once a year, while graduating classrooms offer them twice a year.

Are there opportunities for parents to join school events or activities?
Yes, parents are frequently invited to participate and assist with events both inside and outside of LLLC, fostering a strong sense of community and engagement in their child's learning experience.

What should my child bring on their first day?
A detailed list is provided upon enrollment to ensure families have all the necessary information and resources.

How do you handle behavioral challenges or discipline?
Conscious Discipline is a research-based social-emotional learning approach that helps children develop self-regulation, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence through positive guidance rather than punishment. It focuses on building connection, empathy, and healthy communication to support behavior management.
Parent involvement is key to successfully addressing behavioral challenges, as consistency between home and school reinforces expectations and provides children with a secure, supportive environment. When parents and educators work together using Conscious Discipline strategies, children learn to manage emotions effectively and develop lifelong self-discipline skills.

What age range does LLLC Serve?
LLLC offers care and educational programs for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as offering school age care as part of our Summer Camp. The center provides a range of age-specific programs, including infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten.

What social and emotional skills will my child develop here?
Al’s Pals is a research-based early childhood curriculum designed to help young children (ages 3–8) develop social-emotional skills, resilience, and healthy decision-making. It is part of the Creative Curriculum approach and includes interactive lessons, songs, puppetry, and role-playing to teach children how to manage emotions, solve problems, and build positive relationships. Al’s Pals also promotes diversity, inclusion, and substance abuse prevention, making it a valuable tool for early childhood educators focused on emotional and behavioral development

Is naptime included in the schedule?

​Yes, Infants follow an on-demand sleep schedule, while toddlers and older children have a designated two-hour nap period in the middle of the day.
​This quiet rest time allows them to recharge, ensuring they wake up refreshed and energized for the rest of their day.

What makes your program unique compared to others in the area?
Open Year round, Working family friendly, Newer build, Continuous update of equipment, School Age 6yrs/12yrs, Parent Involvement, 4 Gross Motor area for children of all ages, Infant rooms equipped with Nursing rooms for mothers to feed their babies and more.

How do you celebrate diversity and inclusion in your classrooms?
LLLC has an in-house Diversity Committee that meets monthly to ensure that all classroom themes, activities, and curriculum are inclusive and representative of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives. This committee works to create a welcoming environment for both students and teaching teams, promoting equity, inclusion, and cultural awareness throughout the center.

Do you provide support for children who are potty training?
At LLLC, we provide gentle and consistent support for children who are potty training. Our teachers work closely with families to maintain a routine, encourage independence, and offer positive reinforcement. We create a patient, supportive environment, using reminders, praise, and age-appropriate techniques to help each child progress at their own pace.

Is your program full-time, part-time, or both?
LLLC offers both Full Time and Part Time care. 5 Days, 3 Days and 2 Days. As well as drop-in care.

What is the teacher-to-student ratio in the classroom?
Infants: 1:4
Toddlers: 1:5
Twos: 1:8
Preschool: 1:10
School Age: 1:20

Do you offer outdoor play or physical activity?
LLLC features two well-equipped outdoor playgrounds and a spacious indoor gym, providing children with ample opportunities for active play, physical development, and social interaction in a safe and engaging environment.

How do you communicate with parents about their child’s progress?
LLLC uses ProCare is a childcare management app that helps parents and childcare providers stay connected. It allows parents to check-in/out their child, receive real-time updates, track attendance, make payments, and communicate with teachers. Providers use it for scheduling, billing, reporting, and managing daily activities, making childcare operations more efficient and transparent.
